Operations:  Graphs of Vertical lines

Graphs of vertical lines canNOT be entered into the Y= menu, since their form is x = c.  There are two methods to know.

  1. Stationary vertical line                wpe4.jpg (7205 bytes)
    bulletStart from the HOME screen
    bulletPress 2nd-PRGM 
    (DRAW)  to see the
    DRAW menu:


    bulletChoose option 4
    bulletEnter the given value for x.   Say, x = 5,
    and hit ENTER  (NOT graph)
    bulletwpe5.jpg (2910 bytes)wpe6.jpg (3001 bytes)wpe7.jpg (3444 bytes)

     

  2. Graphing a Moveable vertical line is also possible.
    bulletStart in the GRAPHING screen
    bulletPress 2nd-PRGM  (DRAW)  to see the DRAW menu
    bulletChoose option 4
    bulletUse the right and left arrow keys to move the vertical line across the screen.   This is kind of fun for the vertical line test, and to "eyeball" critical points.
